Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.

Tonight I joined freecycle.org and I am really excited about it!!! I despise contributing to waste and recycle absolutely everything I possibly can so I think I'll have a lot of fun with freecycle. I strongly encourage everyone to be more environmentally friendly. It's not always easy, especially when carrying around random trash items like water bottles and paper all day to ensure that they're properly disposed of, but it's so worth it! (For the most part, I'd say about 92% of the time, I use refillable water bottles but occassionally I grab a disposable bottle). Despite what my family says, I am not a recycling extremist. I can be a Nazi about it but mainly just with myself (and ANY of the trash that goes in/out of my house). I try not to pass judgement on people who don't recycle and prefer to lead by example so that perhaps others will see the value in it. I'd love to be really hardcore and start composting too! I guess now that I have the baby tortoises I won't have much food to throw out anymore though. They're my little garbage disposals and don't care if fruits/veggies are bruised or slightly old. They'll eat anything! I bet if they were humans they'd be freegans! What can I say? Chez Rey is all about saving the planet :)
