Last Friday was my parent's 39th Anniversary! I have the best parents in the world and I'm so grateful for them! My mom had jury duty and wouldn't you know, she got emotionally invested in the case she didn't get selected for and is now friends with the mom of the young man who was sentenced to 7 years last Wednesday. I doubt I would have cared as much as my mom did (in fact I KNOW it), but thinking about Eugene's sentence reminded me that I've never visited a jail! I sat in a trial for a BLaw class years ago though and it was really boring but I'm sure a jail visit would be extremely interesting. And scary. I would totally go for a visit if given the chance. I wonder if that'll ever actually happen?!?!?
Facebook sabbatical update: I decided on a day to reactivate my account but it was short lived. Just thinking about going back bores me. I wish there was some sort of guarantee that it'd be interesting again, like in the old days where people didn't post minute to minute updates on their lives, but I think those fun days have long passed. Looks like I'm right back where I started- offline with no return in sight. Oh well. Now that I'm a fish/turtle/tortoise/plant mom I don't really have time for FB. I do feel the world is being deprived of seeing all my babies since I'm quite sure not many of my friends read this blog. What's a girl to do?!?! Risk extreme boredom or allow only a few people the opportunity to see the best pets in the world? Lose-lose. Nobody wins. Ugh.
In other news, I am very excited about SHARK WEEK!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting patiently all year and it's finally here! Only 2 days to go... And only one week to go until Real Housewives of DC! I am such a reality show junkie. I am still considering a reality TV sabbatical but I just don't know if I can do it. I won't commit unless I know for sure that I will stay the course and I'm still not there yet. Not only is reality TV entertaining but it's educational as well. Take tonight for example- I learned what a push gift is. I've known the concept for a while but didn't know it had an acutal name until Bethenny Getting Married? when Jason and Max were discussing it on the way to the jewelry store. I also watched a documentary on the Galapagos tonight. I'll drop whatever I'm doing to learn about the Galapagos and tonight was no exception! It was fascinating. I learned about Boobie infanticide and it was really sad to watch the oldest chick force the baby out of the nest. Poor baby bird never had a chance. I despise birds but it was still sad watching the helpless baby die. Why can there only be one Brown Booby chick at a time?!?! Argh to survival of the fittest!
