SWAP!

This month's Ladies Literary League meeting consisted of a SWAP PARTY!!!!! Truth be told, we forgot to discuss the book The Power of Half (mainly because none of us read the whole book) and we didn't pick a book for next month either! OOPSIE! I went to my first Provisional Meeting for Junior League on Monday night (which by the way was lots of fun!) and one of my new friends told me her Book Club read The Help. I was reading a newsletter later that night and their Book Club book also read The Help. I took it as a sign and made the executive decision that that would be our next book. I am REALLY excited to read it!

Anyways, our Swap Party was hours of nostop fun! Everyone brought things they didn't want anymore (clothes, jewelry, household goods, etc...) and each person auctioned off the items they brought. Bids started at $1 (we used fake money, of course!) and it got very competitive at times! Things I didn't expect to sell at all went for hundreds of dollars. The inside of my house looked like a giant garage sale! It took us about 4 hours to auction everything off and believe it or not, I only had a small pile of leftover goods to donate to the shelter! What a wonderful time ;) I can't wait until our Fall Swap Party!

Me and Crys brought in furniture from the garage and it's a good thing we did or we wouldn't have had anywhere to put all of this stuff!

Cryssy with our "bank." We each started with $1,000.

We didn't have enough chairs for 13 people so Shea and Cal brought in lawn chairs :) They bought LOTS of stuff!

Sally's Book Club! And my new friends :)

April's Book!
