Yesterday was the Cowtown Marathon. My friend, Paul, decided to run the 10K for his Dad who was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia last summer. Paul (aka Sparky) raised money to donate for FTD Research/Awareness. Sparky's wife, my dear college friend, Jessica, and I wanted to help support him so we made posters and were his cheerleaders at the race! I spent the night at their house Friday night and we left at 6:30AM. Yes, I was awake before the sun. I'm so NOT a morning person but it was totally worth it! I wouldn't have missed Sparky's race for anything! Jess and I used to be Purple Hearts at TCU and would make posters for the football players before games. Friday night was a wonderful flashback to Junior year! We were hardcore poster makers back in the day- if there would have been competitions, we would have won every single week ;)
I looked like I lived on the streets of Fort Worth! Hahahahaha :) We were crazy bundled up- it was REALLY cold! The front of my sign said, "Light up the track Sparky." I don't remember what the back said.
The Higgins'! 2 of the greatest people EVER!!!!!
Some teachers/coaches from Paulie's school ran with him! Way to go FRMS! There's no better way to celebrate than brunch at Fuzzy's Tacos followed by a 4 hour nap!!!
