Veterans Day

Today is Veterans Day! I'm pretty sure this day holds more meaning for most of us this year, given the shooting at Fort Hood last week. As annoying as it is that the banks and other offices are closed, I think it is important to pay homage to those who give/gave their lives for the rest of us. I am not overly patriotic, by any means, but on this day I am grateful. At Dove Creek's Gospel Night last week, the Armed Forces song was played and I watched as the various members stood when their song was played. It is always touching to see the pride Veterans hold for our country. I really can't imagine what that's like.

This day is also special for me because it was my grandfather's birthday and the day his wife, my grandmother, passed away from breast cancer. I really wish I would have known them better but I guess the best I can do now is never forget them and be grateful to them for having my pops :)
