We had a FABULOUS Thanksgiving at my house this year! We watched The Godfather marathon all day, took lots of naps and ate some really yummy food :) Mama made her organic turkey again and it was soooo delish! My contribution was the green bean casserole and I'm sad to say that although it tasted great, it was a little on the runny side. Hmmm, guess that's why that's my only dish! Crys was in charge of desserts- she bought pumpkin, apple, fudge pecan and key lime pies. Yes, that is A LOT of pie for 4 people and I think we'll have some around for at least a week! Pops buttered the rolls, that is always his favorite thing to do! Oh, and he was also in charge of the remote all day, making sure that we didn't miss the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade or the Cowboys game during Godfather commercials.
It is important to not only "give thanks" and eat good food but to remember the Indians and the sacrifices they were forced to make for the rest of us. It seems wrong to celebrate an event that caused the ruin of an entire civilization but alas, we all do. I highly suggest doing research on the Wampanoag Indians to fully understand the first Thanksgiving.
Awwww, Cryssy's eyes were hurting again :(
