Last week was Vacation Bible School at my church. I decided to volunteer but wasn't sure if I was helping or not until the afternoon before it started! I taught the 4's and they were all so cute!!! I had never volunteered at VBS at my church before and it is most certainly something I will (hopefully) be doing every year from now on. I've also decided it's time to start teaching Sunday School again!!! I haven't taught for 3 years but having my own class last week reminded me how much fun I have with kids! I'm not sure what age I want to teach- I'm thinking 3's but perhaps I'll let the church just put me in whatever class they want. I'm sure I'd have a good time with any preschool age :)
Anyways, I had a wonderful time last week! My kids were precious :) Our VBS theme was Going Green and my kids really put what they learned to practice. By the end of the week they had morphed into the Trash Police. On the first day of VBS we were at the Bikes playground and all of a sudden several of the kids were huddled around each other screaming. I quickly made my way over to them, thinking someone was hurt, but nope- they were all pointing and screaming, "LITTER LITTER!!!" at one little paper cup on the ground. HILARIOUS!!!!! For the rest of the week anytime they saw trash on the ground, even a tiny piece of paper, they screamed to let me know and then brought it to me to save for the recycle bin in our room. I'm glad they learned how important taking care of our environment is and hopefully they will remain concerned about the world around them.
