Last week was my birthday. It was the first birthday that I can recall dreading. I was NOT looking forward to it at all. I had a pretty great time celebrating so I am fine with my new age now I suppose ;) 27 was a pretty stressful year at times but I was still able to accomplish a few of the things I wanted. I didn't read 100 books but I read about 75 (give or take 2- I can't find my official list). I have decided to keep this goal for this year. I haven't read a book yet but my first one will be Eat, Pray, Love. Perhaps I'll start tonight! I also joined Junior League and most importantly, I finally joined my church! This was by far the most grown up decision I've ever made and not one that I took lightly. I've attended my church for years (even taught Sunday School for 4!) but couldn't ever make myself commit. Pentecost Sunday was the last Sunday of my 27th year and since it had been weighing heavily on my mind to join, I did. I wasn't expecting to feel differently toward my church but I do. I feel like it is my church now but oddly enough, I never felt it wasn't mine before I joined. I am looking forward to volunteering in the Flower Ministry and Children's Ministry in the upcoming months! I can't really think of any other important accomplishments from my Golden year right now. Hmmm...
I had a few celebrations this year. 2 family dinners, a Girl's Night and a joint party with my friend, Jacob. Here are some pictures from my weekend...
