Reyes Rhapsody

I recently decided to STOP listening to folk music for a little while and give another music genre a try. I'm on Day 3 and it's been very difficult for me! I LOOOOVE folk more than words can possibly express but I need to be more well rounded. I decided to listen to classical for the next few weeks/months and then try jazz, bluegrass and possibly even country. Eek! Not sure how far I'll make it with country- I've never been a fan but I am all about broadening my horizons so I just might love it!

If I was gifted enough to compose a classical tune, I would call it Reyes Rhapsody. That has such a nice ring to it, doesn't it? I like alliteration :) I have a feeling this music appreciation journey of mine will be a very interesting one. I already feel more mature for listening to classical (mature being my nice way of saying old!). In the past, I only really listened to classical while studying because it was supposed to help retain information but now I am genuinely trying to love it. At times I feel it's a bit too slow for me and kind of makes me want to take a nap but it is so beautiful and I am amazed at the musical genius that could create such masterpieces. Music in general fascinates me more than anything. I am both appreciative and envious of people who can create/play songs. What a wonderful gift to possess!
