Fish Mom

Gable is one year old today! Well, I guess technically he's older than that but I bought him exactly one year ago. My little baby is so grown up! I can't believe I've been a fish mom for 12 months. It has been a pretty interesting experience. I never had a fish before Gable and it's a lot more work than I thought it would be. We have finally controlled his constipation (I still give him regular salt baths just to be sure) and my current battle is his food. I don't think he likes it and I know I don't- it smells really bad and clouds his water a lot faster than the old one which means I have to change his bowl more often. Petco doesn't sell the other brand anymore but I still ask if it's been reordered every time I go in! I've gone to about 6 pet stores searching for it and still no luck :( Boo.

I am sad to say that Gable's miniature cactus may be dying. I thought it would be fun for him to have his own plant and it surely is a cute one! Unfortunately, the cactus doesn't seem to be thriving anymore- it looked great for months but not so much anymore. How long is a cactus supposed to live? It's only been 10 months. Perhaps I'll make a stop at Calloway's this week and buy Gable another plant!
