Lent

Today was the first Sunday of Lent and I am VERY happy/proud to say that I made it to church for the 2nd week in a row! GO SHANYREY!!! I realized this week that since I am participating in Lent, I should also attend every service... 1 down, 5 to go! While I was at church today, I saw a few families that I know. I taught Sunday School for 5 years but taught the same class for 4 of those years so the kids from my class I know (and love) very well. I talked with a few moms and saw one of my favorite little girls after church. I was just leaving the service, not paying attention to anyone, when a little girl/young lady grabbed my arm and said, "Jessi's here! I'll go get her for you!" It was Jessica's older sister and I was immediately so excited to see Jessi because I don't get to see her all that often anymore. I followed her around the corner and there was my little Jessi, all grown up! Well, not really- she's only 9 but I've known her since she was 2 so to me she's all grown up. Like usual, when Jessi saw me her entire face lit up and she ran as fast as she could to me and jumped in my arms! She's so tall now that I can't pick her up anymore. That makes me sad. She had a few cookies with her and asked me if I wanted some. How cute! I seriously don't know anyone who makes me feel as loved as her. She is the most precious little girl and I love her sooooo much!!! I know some of the most amazing people EVER!
