In 1492...

Columbus sailed the ocean blue! And he "founded" this wonderful nation of ours. Okay, I rarely actually think it's wonderful but I guess it's better than most. I just looked up the lyrics for the 1492 song and it's really long! I'm sad to say I never even knew it had so many verses. When I think of Columbus I think of a few things- Spain, the Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria and Indians. Man did the Indians ever get jipped. Wow. Talk about a sad story. Perhaps that one's better left for Thanksgiving since that is considered the National Day of Mourning for Native Americans. It really should be considered a National Day of Shame for the rest of us but we all know that's not gonna happen. Anyways, I hope everyone has had a fabulous day reflecting on Columbus. As for me, I've pretty much spent the day playing Sorority Life and doing countless word puzzles :)
