I know I have mentioned this little story before on facebook but I have been thinking about it tonight so I'm posting here as well.
Jessi, one of my Sunday School kids, was sitting on my lap one day when she was about 4 years old. She was asking me how old I was so I told her and I commented that I was getting older and asked if she would she still love me when I was an old lady. She turned around, grabbed my face in her little hands, stared straight into my eyes and said, "Shanelle, I'll love you even after you die." My heart melted. To this day that is the best compliment I've ever received and pretty much the only one I wholeheartedly believe. Four years have passed and I still think about Jessi's sweet words all the time.
If only all kids were as sweet as the ones I know...
