The Windy City

The roadtrip to Chicago was very long and very eventful! We had a blowout in Nowheresville, Missoura (the offical way to say Missouri) and winded up hanging out at the local Wal Mart while the tire was replaced. Despite the slight detour, we were very grateful for the kindness of everyone we encountered. Missouri was a really boring state and not nearly as pretty as Oklahoma. We were so happy when we finally rolled into Illinois.

I am head over heels in love with Chicago! What a beautiful/fun city!!! The weather was amazing and we had a fabulous time! I am now debating whether I'm a city girl or a country gal- I think both make me equally happy ;) I absolutely can't wait to go back- hopefully sometime this summer :) Here are some pics...

On the way home today, I braved a few things I've never done alone... this was only my 3rd time to fly by myself and my first time to fly alone with a layover! I LOATHE layovers but just couldn't argue my way out of a cheap ticket. Also, I used a carry on for the first time! I equally loathe overhead storage and today was my very first time to use it! Yeah for first experiences :) Luckily, all went smoothly- except for the screaming brats on one of my flights who did not let me sleep... ARGH!
