TORNADO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing I absolutely love about Texas is the crazy weather! June wouldn't quite be the same without the frequent tornado warnings and the mass hysteria that quickly follows. Wednesday was perhaps the most eventful/scary evening I've had in a long while. I went grocery shopping after work and was pretty excited about my purchases (I decided to branch out and bought turkey dogs so I can give the turkey burgers a lil rest) but when I got to my car the clouds had rolled in and the sky was black/green. It was really windy and sprinkling a little bit so I rushed to put the groceries in my car and took the cart back cuz I'm a nice shopper :) Before I even started the car, an incredible downpour began. The 3 mile drive home took me 25 minutes and it was literally an obstacle course to maneuver through- signs were in the middle of the street, trees were EVERYWHERE and I could barely see. When I got home the electricity was out (mild panic but luckily we keep lots of flashlights around!) so I dropped off my groceries, changed and headed to Cryssy's restaurant to wait out the storm.

Luckily, our house wasn't hit but the neighborhood suffered some pretty intense damage. Lots of big and beautiful trees were cut in half and debris was all over our streets. Me and Crys took a walk around the neighborhood (what else is there to do with no electricity???) and took pics. Beth Shea came over to spend the night because she, like us, was among the 240,000 without electricity and she didn't want to be alone in her apartment in the pitch black dark. We had an incredibly fun time- thank God Crys has hundreds of candles! We used lots of them! Here are a few pics...

My pretty petunias... ruined :(

Walking around the neighborhood- of course I had my flashlight!

Doing yoga in the pool with Beth Shea :)

Quick run to Wendys!
